The awards „Oscar for Quality“ for 2013. have handed over
With support of the Ministry of Economy, the Foundation for a Quality Culture and business Excellence - FQCE and magazine "Quality and Excellence" in collaboration with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce organized conference on 12th and 13th November 2013 dedicated to the World quality day and to the European week of quality - FORUM OF QUALITY AND BUSINESS EXCELLENCE 2013.
As part of this event on 14th of November in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, awards for outstanding achievements in the improvement and development of quality and business excellence - "Oscar for quality" have been assigned. The awards were handed over by Ms. Jelena Popović, Assistant Minister for economy in charge of quality infrastructure.
This year ""Oscar for quality " was awarded for the 19th times to the best companies in private and public sectors, which have shown that sustainable business is possible by implementing quality systems and by compliance with requirements of market, employees and the social community, said the Deputy President of Serbian chamber of Commerce, Ms. Vida Džagić, noting that this award contributes to the competitiveness and sustainable development in general.
“Oscar for quality" for this year is awarded in four categories - large organizations, small and medium sized enterprises, public sector and companies outside the territory of Serbia.
The absolute winner in the category of large organization is "NIS - petroleum Industry of Serbia ", in the category of small and medium-sized enterprises title of absolute winner was awarded to "The Institute of Meat Hygiene and Technology" from Belgrade. In the public sector the winner is "The Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals" and for organization outside Serbia - laureate is "BH Telecom" from Sarajevo.

Ms. Popović congratulated to the winners emphasizing that companies which take part in competition for this valuable award, through reviewing of their business activities using key criteria of this award, could receive a very good tool for assessment of their performances related to their market and customers, partners, employees and society as a whole, in order to be more able to foresee perspective for future development.
Handing Business Excellence Award, Ms. Popović expressed her expectations that this high Quality Award for Business Excellence should present a strong motivating factor to all economic operators to work on improvement of their business operation and will contribute to the development of the overall climate for quality improvement in our country.
