Awards Oscar for Quality for 2016
Assistant Minister responsible for Quality Infrastructure, Jovan Petrovic said today on the event of the award Oscar of Quality that the Ministry of Economy pays attention to raise awareness about the importance of quality infrastructure and encourages the use of modern technical legislation and Serbian standards.
"This is the only way to make our economy competitive, to remove barriers to trade and to achieve optimal level of health and safety of consumers," said Petrovic.
He explained that the Ministry of Economy conducted a harmonization with EU legislation in all areas that are within MoE competence and established a horizontal legal and institutional framework.
"We continue to work with colleagues from other relevant ministries and regulatory institutions to harmonize regulations in remaining areas and to achieve further progress in Serbia's EU accession and opening Negotiation Chapter 1 - Free movement of goods", he said.
Assistant Minister has announced that in the coming period focus will be on the implementation of regulations and standards in practice, the analysis of the needs and capabilities of the operators in the Serbian market, as well as the coordination of market surveillance and inspection.
Speaking of the importance of Awards Oscar of Quality, Petrovic said that this award shows the best examples of companies and other organizations which implement standards and thus provide an incentive to other companies to look up to the best ones.
Oscar of Quality winners are: Messer tehnogas, Eaton Elektrik, Prva petoletka – Namenska, D&N Sani, Energotehnika- Južna Bačka, ZU Apoteke Niš, Institute of Veterinary Novi Sad, Airport "Nikola Tesla".
