Published Rulebook on verification of measuring instruments

Rulebook on verification of measuring instruments ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 1/12) was published on January 11th and came into force on January 19th 2012.

This Rulebook prescribes periodic verification of certain types of measuring instruments, manner and conditions of verification, and the manner and time limits of keeping required documentation.

Measuring instruments which are subject to periodic verification are prescribed by Rulebook on Types of Measuring Instruments which are subject to Mandatory Verification and Intervals of Periodic Verification (Official Gazette of RS, No. 49/2010).

The activities of verification of measuring instruments, in accordance with the Law on Metrology ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 30/10) are performed by economic operators authorized to perform verification of certain types of measuring instruments; and, verification of measuring instruments for which there is no authorized body, the verification will be performed by Directorate for measures and precious metals in a manner that ensures the independence and impartiality.

On the effective date of this Rulebook, the Rulebook on Manner and Conditions of Verification of Measuring Instruments („Official Gazette of S&M”, No. 24/06 and Official Gazette of RS, No. 21/10) shall cease to apply.
