Published Rulebook on Personal Protective Equipment

The application of the rulebook starts on 1st July 2013.

Rulebook prescribes essential health and safety requirements and other requirements and conditions that personal protective equipment must meet prior to its placing on the market and/or use, for protection of the health and safety of users of such equipment; categories and types of personal protective equipment; procedures for conformity assessment; presumption of conformity; content of technical documentation; content of the Declaration of Conformity; conformity mark and its labelling; safeguard clause and requirements conformity assessment body must fulfil in order to be appointed to perform those activities.


In the interim period, until the effective date of this Rulebook (1st July 2013) following regulations are applied:

1) Ordinance on Mandatory Attestation of Helmets for Protection in Industry (Official Gazette of SFRY No.  4/82 and 43/82);

2) Ordinance on Mandatory Attestation of Helmets for Firefighters (Official Gazette of SFRY No. 67/86);

3) Ordinance on Mandatory Attestation of Respiratory Organs Protection Equipment (Official Gazette of SFRY No. 49/87);

4) Rulebook on mandatory attestation of climbers for wooden power supply poles and on conditions that have to be met by associated labour organizations authorized for attesting such products ("Official Gazette of SFRY", No. 67/89);

5) Rulebook on Mandatory Attestation of Safety Belts and on the Criteria that Must be Met by the Organizations Authorized for Issuing Attestation Certificates for Such Products ("Official Gazette of SFRY", No. 67/89);

6) Rulebook on technical and other requirements for Helmets for Firefighters ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 74/09);

7) Rulebook on Technical and Other Requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (Official Gazette of RS No. 56/09 ), except provision of Article 2 item 10) of the Rulebook, relating to the helmets and visors for drivers of two-or three-wheeled motor vehicles.


These regulations shall cease to be valid on 1st July 2013. Also, certificates of conformity issued pursuant to these regulations are valid until the expiration of validity of the document in accordance with certain regulation, and latest by 1st July 2013.
