Repealed Rulebook on technical and other requirements for furniture ("RS Official Gazette", no. 56/09)

Analyzing the valid technical regulations in this field and frequent remarks of the economic operators which stressed and outdated requirements set by standards referenced by this Rulebook, the Ministry of Economy found reasons to repeal the Rulebook. Repeal has been made by the Rulebook repealing the Rulebook on technical and other requirements for furniture, published in the "Official Gazette of RS", no. 86/2015 of 14th October 2015 and entered into force on 22nd October 2015.

The requirements for these products are regulated by the Law on General Product Safety ("Official Gazette", no. 41/2009), which applies to all products, except for products for which special regulations define their safety. Having in mind that in the EU legislation there are no specific regulations in this area, in order to equalize the comparative legal practice with the EU, further efforts to comply with European standards were done by the list of Serbian standards in the field of general product safety relating to furniture, which should contribute to raising the competitiveness of Serbian economy.

Repeal of the Rulebook on technical and other requirements for furniture allows faster and more efficient adjustment of the technical and technological development and raising the competitiveness of the domestic industry.
