Roundtable on fulfilling obligations from Benchmark 1 in order to open negotiations on the Chapter 1 - Free movement of goods
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce together with the Ministry of Economy organized a round table "The fulfillment of obligations under Benchmark 1 in order to open negotiations on the Chapter 1 - Free movement of goods"
Roundtable was organized by Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Economy. The participants presented the basic principles of non-harmonized areas and guidelines for all future obligations relating to the Benchmark 1 for the opening of the Chapter 1.
Dušanka Kalezić, Advisor to the President of Serbian Chamber of Commerce said that the Chapter 1 - which includes the rules and regulations for the free movement of goods as one of the fundamental freedoms of the functioning of the single market, is especially important for our economy. The general principle of this chapter indicates that the product can be traded freely, without obstacles in the single EU market.
Miodrag Dugandžija, Head of Division in QI Sector of the Ministry of Economy presented the general principles relating to non-harmonized area of the EU, and stressed the particular importance of further joint work of the relevant ministries and industry sector for removal of all barriers to trade. Tanja Petrović, Head of the Group for non-harmonized Technical Regulations in the Ministry of Economy presented the next steps and guidelines to meet the obligations defined by Governmental decision on the need for submission action plan to the European Commission, in conjunction with benchmark 1 for the opening of negotiations in Chapter 1 (Presentation: available in Serbian)
Legal and technical analysis of regulations through examples and recommendations was presented by Zoran Bakić, Advisor in the QI Sector of the Ministry of Economy. (Presentation: – available in Serbian)
